- Hi Clint:
- I've put an A3640 in my A3000 without any problems. I have heard of
- the 3640 not working in some A3000's, it seems to be a hit and miss type
- of deal. With that said you need to do the following-
-
- Change the following jumpers on the A3000 mother board:
- J100 Remove the jumper block (normal is across pins 1-2)
- J102 Pins jumper block across 2-3 (my A3000 came this way)
- J104 Remove the jumper block (normal is across pins 1-2)
-
- Install the A3640. Make sure the heat sink is the low profile type. If
- not change it or the heatsink will come in contact with the drive bay
- attachment plate. One thing to note is the A3640 does not seem to want to
- stay in the PDS slot. Make sure you attach it to the mother board with
- screws (there are two point for this).
-
- Power up and cross your fingers! Goodluck.
